Our dedicated and friendly staff have a wealth of experience working on Classic and Historic sports cars.
Although our background is heavily Jaguar based, specifically the sports and race cars from the 50s and 60s, we also look after a wide selection of cars from the 1930s through to more modern Classics of the late 90s & early 2000s and we also have dealer level software for the later cars and regularly service Jaguar XJ. XF, XE & XK models along with the Gaydon era Aston Martins.
Melvin's interest in cars started at a very early age in his father's auto-electrical business. He studied and qualified as an electro-mechanical engineer then returned to old cars at Lynx Motors International in 1986 as Projects Manager.
Co-founder of CKL Developments in 1998, Melvin decided in 2016 it was time to get back to basics and went into partnership with Dave, Scott and Jan to form Just Historic Cars Ltd.
With over 15 years of Historic race driving, he brings another level of confidence when discussing projects with customers.
Starting in his family’s business maintaining London Taxis, Scott moved into the Historic car world over 10 years ago. Always a keen Jaguar man, he has developed a real passion for these cars and has prepared and supported a range of Historic Jaguars, Listers and Allards as well as other marques from the period, both on the track and on tours.
He is also our ‘modern’ car guru, able to chase and diagnose faults in this age of plug-and-play cars which are too old for main-dealers to be interested in yet too good to take off the road.
Scott is the calm, quiet member of the Team.
Aside from being a ballroom dancer and enjoying grass-track racing, Jan has still found time to have a family, pass all her exams to become a qualified accountant, rides a 700cc Honda and does a full time day-job.
She has worked in or around the motor trade for several years and loves the historic car world. She is the financial brains of Just Historic Cars and keeps the company on target, dealing with customer and supplier accounts and all the necessary boring bits like PAYE , VAT returns and company reporting.
Dave has been around Historic and Classic cars for over 35 years. A well known and very knowledgeable mechanic, he has always been one of the core members in any team and just cracks on with the job, able to breathe new life back into sad and tired cars.
Working mainly with Historic and Classic Jaguars, Dave has amassed a wealth of experience to produce top quality results, liaising closely with customers and also supporting at race meetings and tours.
His passion for 50's music also creates a real period atmosphere in the workshop!
Justin joined the team in early 2018, a welcome addition further expanding our workshop capacity as well as bringing yet more years of experience of Historics and Classics into our fold.
With a background in Jaguar, Lister and Allard he has meticulous attention to detail, be it in the workshop or at events such as the Mille Miglia, Spa 6 Hours, Goodwood, Le Mans Classic etc. etc.
The one in the background who's been around for years and seems to know all the suppliers and customers. A valued member of the team who works behind the scenes ensuring parts come in on time and who helps to keep things moving as we grow.
Known by us for far too many years to count, he only came in one day to see if we needed a bit of help!
Thomas also joined us in late 2018 and has been working with Classic and Historic Jaguars since leaving college.
Continually expanding his knowledge to include the other classic marques we look after, he is very much a key part of the workforce.
A true petrol-head, when not at work he is generally fettling one of his own track car projects.
